Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joe Melts
Ingredients:
For the Sloppy Joe Filling:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For the Garlic Bread:
1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
For the Sloppy Joe Filling:
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 4-5 minutes, or until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
For the Garlic Bread:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until well combined.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves of the French bread. Place the bread on a baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5-6 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and slightly golden.
Assemble the Sloppy Joe Melts:
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the toasted garlic bread halves. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Slice the bread into pieces and serve warm. Pair with a side salad or some crispy fries for a complete meal.
