Stuffed Cabbage Rolls Recipes
Ingredients:
1 head green cabbage
1 pound ground beef
1 cup cooked rice
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Gently peel away the cabbage leaves and blanch them in the boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened. Set aside to cool.
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, onion, garlic, paprika, black pepper, salt, and the egg. Mix well.
Lay a cabbage leaf flat, place about 2 tablespoons of the filling at the base of the leaf, and roll tightly, tucking in the sides. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the cabbage rolls for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
In a bowl, mix tomato sauce and beef broth. Pour a small amount into the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the dish. Pour the remaining sauce over the rolls.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving, if desired.
