Pervy fans are making Celebs Go Dating star’s Helen Flanagan social media life a little difficult – and some messages are so unsettling she has to change the settings on her account
Helen Flanagan is being pestered by pervy fans on social media. The Corrie legend regularly gets bombarded with rude and bizarre messages.
Many of them are so explicit they leave her shocked.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: “I get weird messages on social media. They are creepy. I don’t like them, so I just ignore them. I don’t reply to them. I don’t really take any notice.”
Helen gets so many of them she has had to change the settings on her social media accounts.

It means she doesn’t have to see the most disgusting ones. She said: “My Instagram censors a lot of the really bad ones. It’s something on my account. If someone sends something really inappropriate, I can’t even open it.”
Helen has a big online following. She often posts fun snaps with loved ones as well as more saucy ones.
It’s an approach that has made her very popular indeed.
Her Instagram page has more than a million followers and her X page has more than 460,000.
Helen has no plans to quit her accounts, despite the filthy messages getting on her nerves.
The 34-year-old said: “I love posting on social media. It’s really fun.”
And she wants to stay on social media so she can chat with other women. Using her fame to inspire others is something the mum of three is very keen to keep doing.
She said: “I love all the messages I get from other women. A lot of mums get in touch on social media. I like it when women feel they can relate to me. I like connecting with them.”
Helen is also keen to keep doing TV projects. Since finding fame as Rosie Webster on Corrie as a child, she’s become one of the most popular stars on the box.
Down the years, she’s had two stints on I’m A Celebrity along with a role on Holby City.
Last month she returned to screens for the new series of Celebs Go Dating. Helen signed up to take part after splitting from footballer Scott Sinclair. Its experts set her up on a string of dates with single lads to help her find love.
Helen said: “I’ve really enjoyed doing the show. It’s been the best summer. I’ve been given so many tips on dating.”
