Cayenne Smoked Party Ribs
These spicy, smoky ribs are the perfect addition to any BBQ gathering! The cayenne kick gives them a unique, bold flavor that’ll have everyone coming back for seconds.
Ingredients:
2 racks of baby back ribs
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (for basting)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ribs:
Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs to help the seasoning penetrate and make the ribs tender.
Rub the ribs with olive oil to help the spices stick.
Make the Spice Rub:
In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cumin.
Generously rub this spice mix all over the ribs, making sure to coat both sides.
Set Up the Grill/Smoker:
Preheat your grill or smoker to 225°F (110°C).
If using a grill, set it up for indirect cooking and add soaked wood chips for a smoky flavor.
Smoke the Ribs:
Place the ribs on the grill or in the smoker, bone side down.
Smoke the ribs for 3-4 hours, maintaining a consistent temperature.
Baste with BBQ Sauce:
During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce for a sticky, caramelized finish.
If you like extra spice, sprinkle a bit more cayenne during this step.
Serve:
Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
