Honey Butter Fried Chicken
Ingredients
For the Fried Chicken:
• 8 chicken drumsticks
• 2 cups buttermilk
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 tsp black pepper
• 1/2 tsp paprika
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• Oil for frying
For the Honey Butter Sauce:
• 1/2 cup honey
• 1/4 cup unsalted butter
Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken:
• In a large bowl, place the chicken drumsticks and cover them with buttermilk .
• Let it marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for extra tenderness!) .
2. Prepare the Coating:
• In another bowl, mix together the flour , salt , black pepper , paprika , and garlic powder .
3. Coat the Chicken:
• Remove each drumstick from the buttermilk and let any excess drip off.
• Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing it down to make sure it’s fully coated with the seasoned flour.
4. Fry the Chicken:
• Heat oil in a large skillet or deep pan over medium-high heat.
• Carefully place the chicken pieces in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
• Fry each side for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and fully cooked through (the internal temperature should be 165°F/74°C) .
• Remove the fried chicken and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
5. Make the Honey Butter Sauce:
• In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
• Stir in the honey and let the mixture simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally until fully combined and warm.
6. Drizzle and Serve:
• Place the fried chicken on a serving platter and drizzle the honey butter sauce all over the chicken.
• Serve immediately and enjoy the sweet, crispy goodness!
Tip: Add a little extra honey drizzle just before serving for an extra touch of sweetness!
