Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Ingredients:
– 1 pound ground beef
– 1/2 cup bread crumbs
– 1/4 cup milk
– 1 egg
– 1/4 cup chopped onion
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Sweet and Sour Sauce:
– 1/2 cup ketchup
– 1/4 cup brown sugar
– 1/4 cup vinegar
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through.
5. While the meatballs are baking, make the sweet and sour sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ground ginger, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
6. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the saucepan with the sweet and sour sauce. Stir gently to coat the meatballs in the sauce.
