Baked Pears with Berries, Honey, Walnuts & Blue Cheese
Ingredients:
4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
1/4 cup fresh mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
1/4 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Prepare the Pears:
Cut the pears in half and remove the core using a spoon or melon baller to create a small hollow in each half. Place the pear halves in the prepared baking dish, cut side up.
3. Add the Toppings:
Drizzle the pears with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Fill the hollow of each pear with a mixture of berries and chopped walnuts.
Drizzle honey over the filled pears.
4. Bake the Pears:
Bake the pears in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are tender and easily pierced with a fork but still holding their shape.
5. Add Blue Cheese:
Remove the pears from the oven and sprinkle crumbled blue cheese over the top of each pear half.
Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, just until the blue cheese begins to melt slightly.
