Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large apple, peeled and chopped (about 1 cup)
Cinnamon-Sugar Swirl:
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions:
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix 1/3 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Set aside.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and 2/3 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in milk and vanilla extract.
Combine Batter: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped apple.
Layer the Bread: Pour half of the batter into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter. Pour the remaining batter on top, then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the surface.
Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
