Savory Beef Puff Pastry Rolls
Ingredients:
• 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 small onion, finely diced
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
• 1 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
• 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
• 2 tablespoons sesame seeds (white and black, for garnish)
• Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant.
3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Stir in soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until the beef is well seasoned and the mixture is slightly dry. Let it cool.
4. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and cut into equal-sized rectangles.
5. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture along one side of each rectangle, then roll the pastry tightly to enclose the filling. Seal the edges by pressing gently.
6. Arrange the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and crisp.
8. Let cool slightly and garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
