Cheesy Italian Spaghetti Bake

Your next family dinner is sorted with this Cheesy Italian Spaghetti Bake

Ingredients:

• 12 oz spaghetti
• 1 lb ground beef
• 1 small onion, finely diced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 24 oz marinara sauce
• 1 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1 teaspoon dried basil
• 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
• 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• Salt and pepper, to taste



Directions:

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
4. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and no longer pink. Season with oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
5. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
6. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce until well coated.
7. Transfer half of the spaghetti mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the layer.
8. Add the remaining spaghetti mixture on top and finish with the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
10. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
